My Story

I’m Peter Dorrien, a British author with a lifelong love of storytelling and a deep appreciation for the power of education. My journey as a writer has been shaped not just by a passion for crafting compelling mysteries and adventures, but also by an unexpected and life-changing connection to the people of Nepal.

That connection began through my step-daughter, a headteacher who became involved with the UK-based charity Classrooms in the Clouds. Her first trip to Nepal—and the incredible stories she shared upon returning—opened my eyes to the challenges faced by children and teachers in remote mountain villages, and the inspiring work being done to support them. Over time, those stories stirred something deeper in me, and eventually found their way into the heart of my writing.

What truly drives me is the opportunity to give back. All author profits from my books are donated to Classrooms in the Clouds, supporting their mission to build earthquake-resistant schools, sponsor and train female teachers, and bring quality education to children in some of the world’s most remote areas.

For me, writing isn’t just about telling a good story. It’s about using stories to connect people across cultures—and to help change lives, one book at a time.
